Master Gardeners host free festival this Saturday

SEQUIM — Flower arranging tips, fall and winter gardening presentations, and a plant clinic will highlight Saturday’s garden festival.

Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardeners will host the free festival at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To kick off the event, Cathy Wagner will demonstrate fall flower arranging, sharing how to extend the beauty of a fall garden to the home at 10:30 a.m.

Then, at 12:30 p.m., Elaine Webber will chart gardening tasks for homeowners to consider before the cool and wet winter months arrive.

A plant clinic will be available for the duration of the event.

Plant clinics offer free resources for the public, helping to answer gardening questions and solve insect and plant disease problems.

Master Gardeners will be on hand to share their experiences — among them, planting a winter vegetable garden, pruning fruit trees and using native plants in the landscape.

If you wish to bring a picnic lunch, picnic tables and an open lawn area give attendees a serene lunch locale.

Donations will be accepted to support the maintenance costs of the garden.

No reservations are required.

For more information, call 360-565-2679.
