Master fiddler to offer workshop, concert on Monday

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend’s Quimper Grange will host master fiddler and Grammy nominee Bruce Molsky and Molsky’s Mountain Drifters for a workshop and concert Monday.

The workshop will last from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., allowing both large group and small group settings devoted to work on the fiddle, banjo and guitar.

The concert will start at 7 p.m. Both will take place in the Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St.

Admission to the workshop is by a $25 suggested donation. For the concert, a $15 to $20 donation is suggested.

Molsky will be joined by claw-hammered banjo player Allison DeGroot and guitarist Stash Wyslouch of the Deadly Gentlemen.

“From folk taverns to huge festival stages to workshops at the Berklee College of Music, Molsky seduces audiences with his excellent musicianship and conversational wit,” according to a press release.

The proceeds from the concert and workshop will support educational and community events at the Quimper Grange.
