Kelp topic of Port Townsend Marine Science Center’s Future of Oceans series

PORT TOWNSEND — Betsy Peabody will present “Immersions in the World of Kelp” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

The free lecture, part of the Port Townsend Marine Science Center’s Future of Oceans series, will stream on the Zoom internet meeting platform.

Peabody is the executive director of the Puget Sound Restoration Fund.

The presentation will cover the results of the Hood Head seaweed investigation, ongoing research into restoring bull kelp forests, a new kelp ecological survey program and an upcoming kelp expedition.
