SEQUIM — New school will meet old school at the the annual Jazz Dinner Dance on Saturday.
The Stardust Big Band will once again join the Sequim High School Jazz Band at the annual dinner dance, which will be at the high school cafeteria, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Hosted by the Sequim High School Band Boosters, the event will open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the event, with includes a southern fried chicken dinner, are $25 per person or $45 per couple.
Tickets are available at Sequim Animal Hospital, 202 N. Seventh Ave.; Full Moon Candle Co., 609 W. Washington St. No. 13; and Sequim High School.
A veteran band of the Sequim music scene for the past 20 years, the Stardust Big Band plays classics from Swing Era luminaries Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman, as well as contemporary artists.
The SHS Jazz band is an audition-based band led by director Vern Fosket.
SHS’s Band Boosters are raising money for all band programs, including new marching band uniforms.
