PORT ANGELES — Veteran Master Gardeners Jan Bartron, Laurel Moulton and Audreen Williams will host an informative walk at Fifth Street Community Garden from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The monthly walks are free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine.
Attendees can earn continuing education credit for attending the walk at the garden at 328 E. Fifth St.
The veteran Master Gardeners will point out what grows well on the North Olympic Peninsula, review what needs to be done in the vegetable garden and share control measures for common pests and diseases now popping up in our garden beds.
The focus this month is on planting tomatoes, erecting trellises and sharing water conservation tips.
Gardeners also will look at early spring pests which are leaving holes and other chewing damage.
The Fifth Street Community Garden was established in 2011 with a vision of connecting people to the earth through growing food.
