Fundraising regatta sets sail Saturday in Sequim

SEQUIM — The Sequim Bay Yacht Club will host its 25th Reach for Hospice Regatta on Saturday at John Wayne Marina.

Sailing races will begin at noon on Sequim Bay and are accompanied by fundraising to benefit Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County.

A potluck and awards ceremony will follow at 5 p.m.

The Fred Tidyman Trophy will be awarded to the fastest boat and crew in each division. The Mickey McGuffin Sportsmanship award will be presented to a yacht club member who has contributed most to the sport and spirit of sailing.

Sailors wishing to race can register online using the US Sailing’s Regatta Network at www.regattanetwork.com/event/15399 or register in person at 10 a.m. on the day of the event in the club room at John Wayne Marina.

To make a donation, send checks payable to VHOCC to 540 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles, WA 98362, with a notation of “Reach for Hospice campaign.”
