PORT TOWNSEND — The Soundcheck Festival will host the Fort Worden 50th Birthday Party on Sunday.
The party will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the park near the Commons. Live music, cake and nature activities, as well as interpretive activities by the park’s interpretive specialist are planned.
Fort Worden was dedicated as a state park in 1973. Over the past 50 years, it has grown into a park that hosts campers and RV’ers, has walking trails and vistas, and boasts a vibrant life-long learning center, historic guest housing and eateries.
Fort Worden State Park is also home to many art and craft nonprofit organizations and creative local businesses.
