Fiber artists urged to enter work in juried exhibition

SEQUIM — A call for fiber artists has been issued for an exhibit for the 14th annual North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival Exhibition at the Sequim Museum & Arts.

“Irresistible Aesthetics — Beauty, Absorption, & Ideology” is a juried fiber arts exhibition at the museum at 544 N. Sequim Ave., that will be on display from Oct. 1 through Nov. 26. The opening reception will be Oct. 3.

The entry deadline is 9 p.m. Sept. 7.

Details are available online at uniqueasyou. submittable.com/submit.

The show is open to all fiber arts media. Seasoned or newer creations are welcome, said festival director Renne Emiko Brock.

The entry fee is $15 per artist with a maximum of three art entries per artist.

Artist entry fees cover the costs to produce the fiber arts festival exhibition and marketing, Brock said.

A collaborative piece of art or collection of different pieces of art that are curated together are considered one of the three possible pieces of art each artist may enter.

Each artist is required to enter separately to include their own artist statement along with information about the collaborative art piece, and pay the $15 entry fee per artist.

For more information about the fiber arts festival and opportunities to participate, see fiberarts festival.org or email fiber artsfestival@gmail.com.
