Crazy Callen Weekend events schedule announced

SEQUIM — The Crazy Callen Weekend for the 2023 Irrigation Festival begins Friday and extends through Sunday.

It will be followed by the Grand Finale weekend May 12-13.

Crazy Callen Weekend is named in honor of D.R. Callen, who designed and developed the irrigation ditches that brought water to the prairies of Sequim and allowed farmers to thrive. The idea was considered by the general public to be so unusual that he was dubbed Crazy Cal.

Saturday and Sunday events are all at Carrie Blake Park, 202 N. Blake Ave.

Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Friday

• First Friday Art Walk, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. downtown Sequim.

• “Anastasia the Musical,” 7 p.m. Sequim High School, 533 N. Sequim Ave.

Saturday

• Kids Parade, 8:45 a.m. lineup, 9 a.m. start.

• Family Fun Day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Innovative Arts & Crafts Fair, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• Run Series, 1 mile and 5K, 10 a.m. to noon.

• Various entertainment, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Beer and wine garden/ food vendors, noon to 9 p.m.

• Crazy Daze Breakfast for Dinner, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

• Trashion Show (recycled fashion), 6:30 p.m.

• Bandersnatch Ball with Joy in Mudville (Community Dance), 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

• “Anastasia the Musical,” 7 p.m. SHS.

Sunday

• Run Series Half Marathon, 8 a.m. to noon (start is at Troll Haven)

• Family Fun Day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Innovative Arts & Crafts Fair, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Beer & Wine Garden/ food vendors, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Various entertainment 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• “Anastasia the Musical,” 2 p.m. SHS.

• Sequim City Band, 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
