Community Bowls and Soup Share event Saturday

PORT TOWNSEND — The fifth annual Community Bowls and Soup Share will be held from noon to 5 p.m. today at the Palindrome Event Center.

Port Townsend Sunrise and Darby Huffman of Laughin’Gnome Pottery will present the event at 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road in Port Townsend.

The free soup will be prepared by Arran Stark of Jefferson Healthcare and Adam Levin. Vegetables for the soup will be locally sourced from Midori, Spring Rain and Serendipity farms.

Crusty Crumb will provide sourdough breadsticks and Port Townsend High School Key Interact Club will make cookies to sell. Artisan ciders, wines and meads also will be available.

Laughin’Gnome Pottery along with Center Valley Pottery, Steller Jay Pottery, Millbrook Clayworks, and Earth and Aether have donated more than 250 hand-crafted bowls, which will be for sale by donation. Proceeds will benefit Olympic Neighbors and the Longhouse Project.
