Bring Your Own Erotic Art begins Saturday

PORT ANGELES — The fourth annual Bring Your Own Erotic Art Show will be at Studio Bob on Saturday and Sunday.

The show will be on view from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday with special musical guest Tin Sandwich and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Studio Bob at 118½ E. Front St., Port Angeles.

This free show for adults displays art by local artists of all media showcasing emerging and professional levels with the theme of Erotica.

Artist Christopher Allen will be bringing back his pieces, “Adam and Eve — Tabula Rasa.”

These life-sized mannequins have been painted with chalkboard paint and are interactive with chalk pens provided for the viewer to decorate the pieces.

Allen also will showcase “Erotic Diffusion,” a video that takes images from music videos, movies and pop culture that, “while not sexually explicit, have a titillating nature to them,” organizers said.

The clips are played on a large television screened with metal tubes and plastic that diffuse the imagery and give it a kaleidoscopic quality.

Corey Edwards, organizer of the Olympic Peninsula Toy and Collectibles Show, stands by his case of Kaiju monsters he’s been collecting since the early 2000s. He said the show on Saturday will be an option for locals to find new and old toys that they might remember from their childhood. (Matthew Nash/Olympic Peninsula News Group)
