PORT TOWNSEND — “Cooling Waters,” “Find a Balance” and “Healed Tree” are three of the new paintings Northwind Art has installed at Jefferson Healthcare hospital as part of its “Art around Town” program.
Thirty-three works from four artists are in waiting rooms and hallways at the facility.
The works include “Rhody and Varied Thrush” by watercolorist-oil painter Christine Busch, “Shoot for the Moon” by acrylic painter Corinne Humphrey, “Yellow Eden” by mixed media artist Randy Sturgis and “Deep Sheep 2” by woodworker Evan Miller.
“Seeing a piece of art can offer a little bit of beauty and solace,” Northwind spokesperson Diane Urbani said. “This installation is for everyone who comes to the hospital: patients, staff and visitors.”
This latest collection will stay up through mid-September, when a new set of local artists’ works will be rotated in.
