Alice Howe, Freebo to play at Palindrome in Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND — Alice Howe, with bassist Freebo, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday the Palindrome at Eaglemount Winery and Cidery, 1893 S. Jacob Miller Road in Port Townsend.

Tickets are $20 at www.ticketstorm.com/e/29648/t or $25 at the door.

Howe, a singer-songwriter of Americana music, is contrasted with Freebo, known for rock, folk and blues.

While each is a compelling performer in their own right, they both lead and support each other in well-crafted songs such as their cover of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.”

Freebo toured and recorded with Bonnie Raitt and has played on records with Crosby Stills and Nash, Maria Muldaur, John Mayall, Ringo Starr, Dr. John and Neil Young.

He played in concert with Spinal Tap and, as a member of the Zydeco Party Band, he provided music for the Muppets Tonght Band on the Muppet Show while the Electric Mayhem was on tour.
