Nicholas Roberts sought for investigation of car prowls, escape warrant

PORT ANGELES — City police continued to search on Saturday for Nicholas Roberts, who fled on foot after a traffic stop in west Port Angeles.

Roberts, 24, is wanted for investigation of car prowls and a Department of Corrections escape warrant, Chief of Police Brian Smith said.

On Saturday, Smith said Roberts was still at large.

Roberts is described as standing 5-foot-7-inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, white sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Chase ensued

Roberts fled from an officer during a traffic stop in the area of Ninth and D streets at about 11 a.m. Friday.

City police using a K-9 team established a containment area and searched the neighborhood around Eighth and D streets throughout the day Friday.

“PAPD and area law enforcement are still working to locate and arrest Nicholas Roberts,” police said in a Facebook post at 3:46 p.m. Friday.

“We appreciate the tips and information that have come from the community so far.”

Anyone who sees Roberts or suspicious activity is asked to phone 9-1-1.
