Port Angeles man turns himself in after Clallam County Sheriff’s Office releases security footage

Police say Sebastian Goettling, 18, illegally entered a building after hours.

PORT ANGELES — An 18-year-old Port Angeles man turned himself in at the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday morning after the department released security camera footage it said shows him inside a business after hours.

Sebastian Goettling was cited for first-degree trespassing and will have an initial appearance in court later this month, said Detective Josh Ley.

“Once he was aware of the Facebook and news posting, he took steps to take responsibility for the matter,” he said.

The Sheriff’s Office posted the security footage on its Facebook page and an article was published in the Peninsula Daily News on Wednedsday.

Ley said the man forced open a window at Olympic Cellars Winery, 255410 U.S. Highway 101, at about 9:15 p.m. Aug. 14.

He set off an internal motion alarm and quickly fled the scene in a vehicle, Ley said, adding the man didn’t take anything.
