PORT ANGELES — A 44-year-old man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm in the first degree.
Port Angeles resident Justin W. Defrang pleaded guilty June 25 in Clallam County Superior Court. He was then sentenced to 120 months in prison.
As previously reported by the Peninsula Daily News, Defrang was arrested March 12 on a warrant after the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force located him at a residence in the 200 block of South Francis Street, according to a press release from the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team at the time.
Defrang was under the supervision of the state Department of Corrections for a robbery conviction and failed to comply with requirements, which led to the arrest, the release stated.
Three firearms were recovered from the scene. As a convicted felon, Defrang is prohibited from possessing firearms. Additionally, according to past reporting, two of the firearms previously had been reported stolen.
