Man arrested for investigation of drunken driving after rolling vehicle near Chimacum

CHIMACUM — A 40-year-old Port Townsend man suspected of driving drunk was arrested Sunday morning after he fell asleep and rolled his vehicle on state Highway 20 near Chimacum, according to the State Patrol.

Brian Allen Morford remained held in the Jefferson County jail Sunday afternoon for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol. There were no injuries in the single-vehicle wreck.

Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said the wreck was first reported at about 7:38 a.m. Sunday. Morford was traveling east about half a mile west of Anderson Lake Road when he fell asleep and rolled the Ford Ranger pickup down a “deep” ditch, she said.

The truck rolled out of the ditch and landed in the eastbound land of Highway 20.
