PHOTO: Olympic Medical Center nurse wins first DAISY award for Extraordinary Nurses

The DAISY Foundation has awarded its first DAISY award for Extraordinary Nurses to Judy Bedford, a registered nurse at Olympic Medical Center. The award recognizes the extraordinary, compassionate nursing care provided to patients and families. The foundation, which takes its name from the acronym Diseases Attacking the Immune System (DAISY), was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died in 1999 from complications of the auto-immune disease idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura.
