PORT ANGELES — Olympic Medical Center recently hired Brenda White as its emergency preparedness coordinator.
White will be responsible for developing the center’s plans and processes for effective responses to disasters or community emergency.
White, who recently retired after 24 years in the U.S. Coast Guard, comes to OMC after serving as the contingency planning and force readiness branch chief for the 11th Coast Guard District in Alameda, Calif.
She holds a Master of Science in quality systems management.
“It’s a lot more important a position than people might realize, and Brenda brings a whole other level of expertise. We’re looking forward to having her,” said Julie Black, the center’s director of support services.
