Local salon adds stylists to staff

J. Ryan Salon announces new additions

PORT ANGELES — The J. Ryan Salon has announced the addition of two stylists to its staff.

Samantha Richards returns to the salon for appointments on Mondays only.

Richards provides haircuts and styles for men, women and children.

She also offers Brazilian blowouts as well as styles for weddings and special occasions.

Heather Townsend is available Mondays through Saturdays for haircuts and styles as well as for balayage or foil highlights.

Townsend is a 2019 graduate of the Salon Professional Academy in Fort Myers, Fla.

Staff and customers at the pharmacy raised more than $950 to support the humane society, the July recipient of Jim’s Cares Monthly Charity. The funds are raised through monetary donations, used book sales, donated employee casual days and a percentage of over-the-counter sales.

PORT TOWNSEND — Andrea Smith has been hired by Jefferson Healthcare as the clinical manager for its home health team. 

Smith, a military veteran, has a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Aspen University in Denver. 

Smith will supervise the nurses, therapists, certified nursing assistants and medical social workers that deliver skilled intermittent care in private residences, adult family homes or assisted living facilities.
