Jefferson Healthcare receives awards

PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Healthcare recently announced that it has been recognized for its implementation of guidelines for the treatment of stroke patients and the management of atrial fibrillation patients.

The American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association awarded their “Get with the Guidelines — Stroke” Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award to Jefferson Healthcare for it commitment to ensuring that stroke patients are treated according to nationally-recognized, evidence-based guidelines.

Jefferson Healthcare also received the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines – AFib” Silver Quality Achievement Award for its implementation of the association’s guidelines for the management of patients with atrial fibrillation.

According to the American Heart Association’s website, silver awards are based on demonstrated compliance with standards over a 12-month period, gold awards are based upon compliance over a 24-month period.
