Centrum chooses new artistic director for acoustic blues

PORT TOWNSEND — Centrum has named Jontavious Willis as artistic director for acoustic blues beginning in 2020.

The 22-year-old musician will succeed Jerron Paxton, who has filled the role for the past five years.

According to a press release, artistic directors at Centrum identify and recruit master artists from around the globe to teach or perform at the studio.

Willis plays multiple instruments and performs several styles including Delta, Piedmont, Texas and gospel blues.
