BUSINESS BRIEFS: Cosmetologist hired at Port Angeles salon; KONP announces week’s lineup

PORT ANGELES — Shear Elegance at 210 E. Fourth St. recently hired cosmetologist Alysha Graham.

Graham has been to hair shows and has taken a CND shellac class, according to a news release.

Graham’s services include pedicures, manicures, facial waxing, chemical services and hair cuts.

She specializes in occasion updo’s.

KONP talk guests

PORT ANGELES — Here is this week’s schedule for the 1:05 p.m. to 2 p.m. local talk show segment on KONP radio, at 1450 AM, 101.7 FM and www.konp.com on the internet outside the Port Angeles area.

Station General Manager Todd Ortloff hosts the Monday through Thursday segments.

This week’s scheduled lineup:

Monday: Mary Wegmann, chair elect for Prevention Works! with Tiffany Junker, a local parent and specialist in Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), will discuss a screening of the documentary “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope.” The film describes how toxic stress can be linked to destructive behavior and disease but also discusses a new solution.

Tuesday: Roosevelt Elementary School in the Port Angeles School District was named a 2017 School of Distinction. We will have staff and students from Roosevelt.

Wednesday: Juliet Kindred from Serenity House will discuss the “Point in Time,” counting the homeless population in Clallam County.

Dr. Don Carson will be the guest speaker for the Olympic Peninsula Men’s Fellowship.

Newly elected Port Angeles City Council member and Deputy Mayor Kate Dexter will speak.

Thursday: Clallam County commissioners will speak.
