WILDER BASEBALL: Wilder Senior has won seven straight; unbeaten in league

AUBURN — The Wilder Baseball Club won its sixth and seventh straight games and got 23 hits on the day in sweeping ESC Gold and ESC Green on Saturday.

Wilder beat ESC Green 9-2 and ESC Gold 10-6 to improve its record to 6-0 in the American League Northwest 1 League (9-2 overall).

Against ESC Green, Wilder’s Hayden Woods went 6 innings and gave up just one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Jadon Siebel pitched a scoreless seventh inning with a strikeout to finish the game.

At the plate, Woods helped himself out, going 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Carson Jackson had a big day, going 3 for 4 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Joel Wood was 2 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Ethan Flodstrom was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Against ESC Gold, Brady Shimko went five innings, giving up just two earned runs on five hits and no walks to pick up the win. He struck out three. Brody Merritt pitched the final 1 2/3 innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Merritt also did a lot of damage at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and a walk. Gavin Guerrero was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored while Ian Miller was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.

Jackson went 2 for 4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base. Milo Whitman also had a hit, a run and two RBIs.

Wilder next plays at Prep Sportswear in Kirkland at 7 p.m. Saturday in a nonleague game.

CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Wilder Jr. won one of out three in Clackamas, Ore. this weekend.

On Sunday, Wilder Jr. lost 7-4 to Clackamas Fugures as they were five-hit by a pair of Clackamas pitchers.

Tanner Lunt, Jacob Felton and Seth Scofield all had hits and RBIs for Wilder Jr. Four Wilder Jr. pitchers only gave up five hits, but they walked eight Clackamas batters.

On Saturday, behind the red-hot bat of Lucas Jarnigan, Wilder Junior erupted for 15 runs on 12 hits in a 15-9 win over Jesuit.

The Juniors also got outstanding pitching performances from Mason Nickovich and Jarnigan against Lake Oswego, Ore., on Saturday, but lost in a pitchers’ duel 3-2.

Against Jesuit, Jarnigan was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, scoring three runs and driving in four. He added a walk and stolen base to his batting line.

Timmy Adams was 2 for 5 with two doubles and three runs scored, while Felton went 2 for 2 with a double and a walk.

Wyatt Hall was 2 for 2 with three runs scored, an RBI, two walks and two stolen bases while Tate Gahimer was 2 for 5 with a run scored and two RBIs. Kamron Meadows added two walks.

In the Lake Oswego loss, Nickovich pitched four innings, giving up just three hits and two walks, while striking out seven. He gave up two earned runs. Jarnigan went the final two innings, giving up no hits and one walk. But, those performances weren’t quite good enough as Wilder Jr. only managed three five hits and two runs against Lake Oswego’s pitching.

Tanner Price went 2 for 2 against Lake Oswego with a run scored and a walk. Hall had a double, a run scored and a walk. Kamron Noard and Adam Watkins each had a hit and an RBI.
