KIRKLAND — The Port Angeles tandem of Jadon Seibel and Seth Scofield combined for a 5-inning no-hitter as the Roughriders baseball team crushed 3A Juanita on the road 11-0.

“Jadon was phenomenal pounding the zone with multiple pitches and was great controlling the running game. It was another great performance for Jadon. Seth came in as we’ve become accustomed to and shut the door on the Rebels very efficiently,” said coach Karl Myers.

Juanita is not only a 3A team, but a decent 3A team that came in to Tuesday’s game 5-2 in its league and 7-7 overall.

Seibel went four innings, striking out two while walking five. Scofield pitched the fifth inning and was perfect, giving up no walks and striking out one to close out the game.

It was the second no-hitter by an Olympic Peninsula team this season. The duo of Brandon Barnett and Hayden Eaton pitched a no-hitter for Sequim earlier this spring.

It was also the fourth straight year that the Riders had a no-hitter.

Last year against Kingston, Brady Shimko and Timmy Adams combined for a no-hitter. In 2017, the Riders no-hit Port Townsend behind Ethan Flodstrom, Brady Shimko and Andrew Pena, and in 2016 Janson Pederson no-hit Shelton.

The Riders made no errors behidn Seibel and Scofield.

“Defensively, Gavin and Milo were solid up the middle making a couple great plays on hard hit balls, they’re defending at an extremely high level,” said Myers.

At the plate, the Riders banged out 10 hits. Gavin Guerrero went 2 for 3 with three runs scored, an RBI and a walk. Milo Whitman was 2 for 3 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored. Ethan Flodstrom got on base in every plate appearance. He was 1 for 1 with a double, two walks and he got on base a fourth time after being hit by a pitch. He had three runs scored and two RBIs.

Brody Merritt was 2 for 4 with an RBI, while Hayden Woods was 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. Bo Bradow also had a hit and two RBIs.

Port Angeles (7-0, 11-3) will try to stay all alone in first place in the Riders’ next game at 4:15 p.m. Friday at Sequim (4-3, 8-5).
