HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Neah Bay’s Doherty, Port Angeles’ Wheeler make senior All-State teams

PORT ANGELES — Neah Bay’s Kenrick Doherty Jr. and Port Angeles’ Nizhoni Wheeler have been selected to play for boys and girls senior All-State Teams.

Doherty was picked by the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association to the 1B All-State Team, while Wheeler was picked by the Washington State Girls Basketball Coaches Association to the 2A team.

The boys will play at Mountlake Terrace High School on Saturday. Doherty and his 1B teammates will be playing against the 2B senior all stars at 2 p.m., while the girls will play at King’s High School on Saturday. Wheeler’s 2A team will take on the state 1A girls team at 4 p.m.
