BAINBRIDGE ISLAND –– An exhibition of the quirky art of Port Townsend painter Max Grover opens this Saturday at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 550 E. Winslow Way.
The exhibit, titled “Hunter, Gatherer, Painter,” features acrylic paint and collage works created in the past seven months.
They display Grover’s passion for treasure hunting and collecting. His collections are the source for collage elements and imagery in his paintings.
“The things that I paint are the things I gather, the look of what I surround myself with. We are all curators of the world surrounding us,” Grover said.
His work will be on display through Oct. 5.
Grover has lived in Port Townsend since 1993 and runs the Max Grover Gallery at 630 Water St.
