OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Work on U.S. Highway 101 around Lake Crescent will continue west and east of Barnes Point this week starting Monday.
No construction work, traffic delays or signals will be in place today.
Drivers should expect up to a half-hour of total stop time and slower travel through the 12-mile project zone Monday through Friday.
A pilot car will direct traffic west of Barnes Point as crews complete paving work.
East of Barnes Point, alternating traffic will be controlled by a flagger as ditch reconditioning is completed.
Traffic signals will not be in place until the week of July 2.
Heavy truck traffic should be expecting through the work zone.
Through late September, road work is restricted to two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset.
Strider Construction Inc. of Bellingham is in its second of three seasons of work to rehabilitate 12 miles of the highway around Lake Crescent in a project costing $27.5 million. Construction seasons are from March through mid-November.
