PORT ANGELES – Two people were taken to Olympic Medical Center after two cars collided on West Edgewood Drive.
Assistant Chief Mike DeRousie of Clallam Fire District No. 2 said the wreck occurred at about 5:04 a.m. Friday,
The fire district did not identify the people because of privacy concerns.
DeRousie said that the male driver and female passenger of a 1998 Dodge Durango were traveling westbound on West Edgewood Drive when the driver crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 1996 Honda Civic on the driver’s side front, which was driven by a woman with a male passenger
The partially head-on glancing blow pushed the Honda Civic into the ditch where both vehicles came to rest, DeRousie said.
All occupants self extricated and the driver and passenger of the Honda Civic were taken to the hospital for treatment, DeRousie said.
The occupants of the Dodge Durango were uninjured.
Firefighters cleared the scene at 7 a.m. after the vehicles were towed and the road cleared.
