SHINE – The nine-hour closure of the Hood Canal Bridge originally scheduled for tonight has been canceled.
The state Department of Transportation announced shortly after noon today that crews have completed a series of consecutive, overnight tests on newly replaced components of the bridge.
The work was completed a day ahead of schedule, and the night closure scheduled to occur tonight has been canceled.
The bridge had been closed for six hours nightly from Tuesday night through early this morning.
Tonight’s closure had been set to run from 10 p.m. to 7 .m. Sunday. Instead, the bridge will be open.
