Peninsula College has a new women’s basketball coach.

Becky Doherty will be just one of four female head coaches of women’s basketball programs in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC), the parent organization of 34 community colleges in Washington and Oregon.

Doherty is taking over for the legendary Curt Bagby, who retired at the end of this past season after coaching women’s college and girls high school basketball off and on for more than 20 years in Port Angeles.
