PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Public Health announced its 2019 Public Health Heroes at a recent board meeting.
The awards were part of the observance of National Public Health Week and are based on its theme of “Creating the Healthiest Nation: for science, for action, for health.”
The winners:
The awardees are Bob Bindschadler, Global Health category; The Recyclery, Healthy Communities category; Susan O’Brien, Rural Health category; Teresa Shiraishi, Violence Prevention category; Julie Iszley, Technology and Public Health category; and Owen Fairbank, Climate Change category.
