PORT ANGELES: Child car safety seats to be inspected today

Parents can get car seats inspected today to ensure their child’s safety while riding in motor vehicles.

Two dozen people who completed a four-day training session on child car seats will be putting their knowledge to the test today at the Port Angeles Wal-Mart store, 3500 E. Highway 101. Inspections will be from 2 to 5 p.m.

Child seats will also be inspected May 26 at the Grant Street School in Port Townsend.

“It takes four days to learn how to install car seats,” Jefferson County Traffic Safety Coordinator Linda Pfaffman said, “No wonder parents don’t know how to correctly install them. Parents don’t know they’re doing it wrong.”
