PORT ANGELES: Boy shoots friend in head with pellet gun

An 11-year-old Port Angeles boy was shot in the head by a friend with a pellet gun Sunday afternoon.

The injured boy was treated and released from Olympic Medical Center.

The boys were “playing tag with a pellet gun,”‘ said Cpl. Tyler Peninger.

Port Angeles police were called to a Whidby Avenue house about 4 p.m.

The 11-year-old who fired the shot was being held by police Sunday afternoon on investigation of reckless endangerment.
