NEWS BRIEFS: Great Strait Sale starts Saturday … and other items

The annual Great Strait Sale is coming up.

The sale — a collection of garage sales on 61 miles along the Strait of Juan de Fuca Scenic Byway from the U.S. Highway 101/state Highway 112 junction west of Port Angeles to Neah Bay — will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Community sites for flea market-style sales are planned at Joyce Depot Museum, Clallam Bay Visitor Center and the Neah Bay Village Market.

Flyers with advertised sales are available now at Laird Corner Market and online at www.highway112.org.

Audition dates for PA playhouse

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Community Playhouse will hold auditions for its production of “Heisenburg” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Auditions will also be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the playhouse, 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Auditionees who are male are suggested to be between 60 to 75 years old and women 40 to 55 years old.

According to a news release: “The play is a two-character — one man and one woman — piece that chronicles the meeting of two very different individuals who find a connection in spite of their seemingly great differences.”

It also contains some adult material, according to the release.

Rehearsals will begin in mid-January.

Performances will run beginning Feb. 23-25, continue March 2-4 and conclude March 9-11.

Copies of the script are available at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., and Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
