PORT TOWNSEND — A 60-year-old man was uninjured after he was pulled from the water this week, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue said Tuesday.
The unidentified man was pulling crab pots about 100 yards offshore from the Bayview Restaurant when he fell overboard and his small skiff filled with water at about 6 p.m. Monday.
When firefighters arrived, two privately owned 8-foot inflatable boats were attempting to pull the man from the water, said Bill Beezley, fire department spokesman.
Using its newly commissioned fire boat Guardian, fire department personnel brought the man on board and returned him to shore, where he was evaluated by medical personnel and released uninjured, Beezley said.
The man had been in the water for approximately 10 minutes, he said.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies retrieved the skiff and returned it to shore.
