Log truck wrecks on Highway 112

PORT ANGELES — A man driving a log truck was injured when he ran off state Highway 112 into a ditch about four miles west of Port Angeles.

Kelly L. Umbarger, 53, was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles after the 6:59 a.m. Friday wreck.

His condition was not available on Saturday.

He was eastbound on 112 near Eden Valley Road when his truck failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the road to the right into a ditch, the State Patrol said in a memo.

The truck lost its load, troopers said.

Umbarger has been cited for second degree negligent diving, the memo said.

Troopers said that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the wreck.
