JOYCE — Clallam Fire District No. 4 recently received a scene light purchased by the Joyce Fire Auxiliary as well as private donations of pet oxygen masks that are now in each of its ambulances.
Fire Chief Greg Waters said the Joyce Fire Auxiliary began raising funds for the $2,300 scene light after a recent medical call in which paramedics had very little light in which to work.
He said it was “pitch black” as paramedics worked on the man. The new light has been available for use since Friday.
Waters said the district recently received a call from a woman in San Diego who offered pet oxygen masks to the fire district.
He said the mask sets fit animals “anywhere from a hamster to a horse” and are now on each of the district’s ambulances.
