OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Guardrail installation will continue on U.S. Highway 101 this week and drivers can expect delays of up to a half-hour during weekday work hours.
Also planned this week are the application of shoulder stabilization rock and ditch cleaning, said Penny Wagner, Olympic National Park spokeswoman.
The mechanically-stabilized earth (MSE) wall near milepost 223 is complete, Wagner said.
Upcoming work will include striping.
Paving is complete for the 2018 construction season.
Through late September, road work is restricted to two hours after sunrise to two hours before sunset.
Strider Construction Inc. of Bellingham is in its second of three seasons of work to rehabilitate 12 miles of the highway around Lake Crescent in a project costing $27.5 million.
