Grand Olympics Chorus invites those interested in learning to sing to Monday open house in Sequim

SEQUIM — If you’re a woman interested in learning to sing in a cappella harmony, you are invited to the Grand Olympics Chorus open house Monday evening.

The chorus will welcome visitors at 6:30 p.m. in its weekly rehearsal space, Suite E-103 on the eastern side of the QFC shopping center, 990 E. Washington St.

To sing in the chorus, you do not need to be able to read music, member Marcia Homer has said; you do, however, need to be able to carry a tune.

Singing “is a good way to de-stress,” she said, and forget about everything but making those notes ring.

“If you can sing in the shower, you can sing,” Homer quipped.

The Grand Olympics Chorus and its quartets also give concerts locally and compete in regional contests through Sweet Adelines International, the women’s a cappella singing organization.

To learn more, visit the nonprofit ensemble’s website, www.GrandOlympicsChorus.org, or phone Nancy at 360-681-7546.
