Free community Thanksgiving feasts planned in Chimacum, Brinnon today

Free community feasts are planned in Jefferson County today.

In Chimacum, volunteers will serve a turkey dinner with all the trimmings from noon to 3 p.m. at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road.

The dinner is free, though donations are welcome at the door.

Dinners are available for those who are homebound. To have a dinner delivered, call 360-390-4014, ext. 4, to place your name on the list.

With previous dinners, volunteers have been sought for various positions, but this year, event organizer Rita Hubbard said the event has “plenty of volunteers.”

Volunteers are still needed for the Monday, Dec. 25, Christmas dinner. To inquire about volunteering, call 360-390-4014, ext. 4.

The Boiler Room at 711 Water St. in Port Townsend will host a free Thanksgiving feast at 3 p.m. today.

Turkey, ham and side dishes will be served. The meal is open to the public.

Guests can bring dishes to share.
