JOYCE — Clallam County Fire District No. 4 honored Carolyn Flint as its Volunteer of the Year during its annual Joyce Fire Awards Banquet.
Flint, a volunteer firefighter-emergency medical technician, received the award for responding to 198 — about two out of every three — calls during 2017, according to a news release.
Flint’s record is the highest repose volume by an individual in the district’s history, according to the release.
Fire Chief Alex Baker presented Flint with a plaque on Jan. 21.
The awards banquet, held at the Joyce Grange, recognized more than 20 district volunteer firefighters and EMTs for their service to the community, including years served, calls made, outstanding duty, and special recognition.
Dan and Judy Harvey, of Joyce, were also recognized as Outstanding Non-Emergency Volunteers of the Year for their assistance to the district, and Joyce Emergency Planning & Preparedness efforts.
