Fire breaks out on Cape George Road

PORT TOWNSEND — Multiple fire districts have been called to a fire on Cape George Road.

John Merchant, who lives at 2580 Cape George Road, reported the fire across the street, he said.

“It was burning pretty good,” he said. “They’ve got it under control now.”

Merchant said that the business across the street caught flames sometime before 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Merchant said the burning building appears to be the largest on the property.

Firefighters were not available for comment immediately after the report of the fire.
