The three Jefferson County commissioners plan to appoint a District Court judge for 13 days when they meet at noon Monday.
The special meeting will be in commissioners’ chambers at the Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend.
Commissioners will consider appointing Mindy Walker, who won the general election and who will be sworn in to the position Monday — the day outgoing Judge Jill Landis retires — to serve from Jan. 1 through Jan. 13.
The action is in response to RCW 3.34.070, which says that a district judge’s term begins the second Monday in January.
No other action is panned at the special meeting.
