The three Clallam County commissioners will discuss a memorandum of understanding with the Peninsula Housing Authority for a $901,200 Opportunity Fund grant for the first phase of the Mount Angeles View redevelopment project Monday.
The work session will begin at 9 a.m. in the commissioners’ boardroom (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The grant was recommended by the Opportunity Fund Advisory Board and approved by county commissioners on the condition that the city of Port Angeles add the public housing project to its comprehensive plan.
The city updated its comprehensive plan with the addition of the Mount Angeles View project June 20.
Other discussion items for the work session include:
• A request for a joint meeting with the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Council.
• A discussion on state Department of Natural Resources timber revenue.
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Ecology to move funds from Oil Spill Preparedness and to rename the Moving Geographic Response Plan.
• A call for hearing on a proposed code amendment for the number of appointed members needed for a quorum of the Permit Advisory Board.
Commissioners will hold their regular business meeting at 10 a.m. Monday.
Action items include:
• An agreement with Aldergrove Construction Inc. for the Clallam County Veterans Center ramp installation and re-painting project.
• A quit claim deed and real estate excise tax affidavit with the Peninsula Housing Authority to disclaim any reversionary interest in property that Clallam County previously conveyed.
Business meetings are typically held on Tuesdays, but the courthouse will be closed this Tuesday for the Fourth of July holiday.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council will consider removal of trees from Lincoln Park when it meets at 5 p.m. Monday.
The special meeting will be in City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
The council will consider removing 38 city-owned Lincoln Park trees that are obstructing the port’s Fairchild International Airport flight path — and over the next six months, removal of 36 more trees that are inching upward toward that airspace.
County planning commission
The Clallam County Planning Commission will hold a work session on a revised draft Shoreline Master Program at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The meeting will be in Room 160 at the Clallam County Courthouse.
Olympic Medical Center
Olympic Medical Center commissioners will consider a strategic planning consultant agreement for its cancer center when it meets at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet in Linkletter Hall in the basement of the hospital at 939 E. Caroline St., Port Angeles.
They will consider Phase II of the soldier wall project and a business application software and licensing agreement.
Am executive session is planned to discuss the performance of a public employee.
Clallam PUD
There will be no Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners meeting Monday.
The next meeting will be July 10.
