Clallam County commissioners will hear an update on the county’s code enforcement program in a work session that will begin at 9 a.m. Monday.
The meeting be in the commissioners’ board room (160) at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
Other discussion items include:
• A contract amendment with the state Department of Health for well site inspections of Group B water sources.
• An interlocal agreement with Kitsap Public Health District and Jefferson County for a regional public health after-hours answering service.
• The agenda for a Jan. 7 elected official and department head meeting.
Commissioners will hold their weekly business meeting after the work session.
The courthouse will be closed Tuesday for New Year’s Day.
Action items for Monday’s meeting include:
• A certificate of appointment and oath of office for Superior Court Clerk Nikki Botnen.
• A contract with the state Department of Commerce for Violence Against Women STOP grant program funding.
Port of Port Angeles
Port of Port Angeles commissioners will consider the emergency replacement of a Fairchild International Airport block hangar at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The special meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Port Administration Building, 338 W. First St., Port Angeles.
The roof of the East and West Block Hangar at the airport was damaged in a windstorm Dec. 14, port officials said.
Clallam Transit
The Clallam Transit board will consider the 2019 salary of the general manager when it meets at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The special meeting will be at 830 W. Lauridsen Blvd.
The board will retreat into an executive session to review the general manager’s performance before considering the salary in an open meeting.
City of Sequim
The Sequim City Council will discuss the next steps concerning the John Wayne Marina when it meets at 8 a.m. Friday.
The meeting will be at the Sequim Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St. At noon, the council will combine lunch with an executive session to hear an update on union negotiations.
Decisions concerning the marina, now owned by the Port of Port Angeles, is in regard to its possible ownership and/or operation. The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe has offered to split the cost with the city of Sequim for a marina infrastructure assessment.
The council will hear about information concerning the code enforcement project.
It also will discuss a panhandling ordinance and a $150,000 Challenge, an exercise in “participatory budgeting.”
Fire District 3
Clallam County Fire District 3 commissioners will consider the interlocal agreement with the city of Sequim when they meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Commissioners will meet at 323 N. Fifth Ave., in Sequim.
The district covers the east side of Clallam County with a small portion in Jefferson County.
Port Angeles city
The Port Angeles City Council meeting for Tuesday has been canceled for New Year’s Day.
The next meeting will be on Jan. 15.
Public Utility District
There will be no meeting of the Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners Monday or Jan. 7.
The next meeting will be on Jan. 14.
