PORT HADLOCK — An early-morning fire damaged a store in Port Hadlock.
The fire broke out Friday morning under the northeast corner of Hadlock Computer Services at 1871 Irondale Road, suite 1211, said Patricia Willestoft, temporary public information officer for East Jefferson Fire Rescue.
The store was closed and unoccupied at the time. No one was hurt.
A neighbor reported seeing smoke and flames from the rear of the building. A Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy used a fire extinguisher to attempt to contain the flames until fire units were on scene.
East Jefferson Fire Rescue was dispatched at 3:45 a.m. Units arrived to find fire and smoke coming from under the building’s storage room. They extinguished the blaze.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the back corner, limiting damage mostly to the exterior with some additional to the interior.
Assisting were Port Ludlow Fire Rescue, Quilcene Fire Rescue and Discovery Bay Fire Rescue.
