Lawsuit settled
SEATTLE — On the eve of trial, Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay $9.9 million to settle a lawsuit brought by Washington state accusing it of misrepresenting the risks of pelvic mesh implants.
Attorney General Bob Ferguson sued the New Jersey-based health care giant in 2016, saying that it and its subsidiary Ethicon Inc. violated the state’s Consumer Protection Act by failing to tell patients and doctors about the risks and occurrences of dire, sometimes irreversible complications.
