LETTERS: Wayne Marina could be first-class attraction

There should be no talk of selling the John Wayne Marina.

What should happen is that port officials, Sequim officials and any other interested parties should get together and present a plan to the Wayne family about establishing a world-class museum about John Wayne’s history.

Get the state involved as road improvements would have to be made to handle the traffic.

Think ahead officials: A museum that would go with the marina.

Perhaps a new motel/hotel, camping grounds and motor home hook ups.

The future is endless.

Dining at or near the marina.

Think about Wayne’s history in movies that could be on display at a museum.

Perhaps a movie theater, also.

Think ahead of the future.

But if you build some of this, do it correctly.

Don’t go cheap.

Make this a destination that people (tourists) will come and tell their friends about that will make them want to come.

Logging has passed us by and will take a long time — if ever — to return.

The Pacific Northwest needs this type of attraction.

Think of the future.
