LETTER: Women can multi-task and volunteer in communities

If people aren’t happy with Washington, D.C. what can they do locally?

Historically, we write to our state representatives and we follow up by voting in elections.

The Olympic Peninsula is unique.

It is a sad day when headlines read that local fairs, parades and the annual Shrimpfest are being canceled due to lack of volunteers.

Imagine 2,000 women giving back a few hours to their communities.

I am sure many have sent letters.

Staying busy with families and local businesses brings positive change and empowers communities.

Women can multi-task.

Write to your local organizations and volunteer.

We can do it.

Don’t be followers — be leaders and fill a need within our own community.

Let’s make a difference.
